Ok, I guess I’ve been stupid. I thought that I’d get to writing if only I had a proper website to post it on. Check. Now what am I waiting for? Oh I decided that I should import all my old entries, and then I’d post new ones. Well, guess what? That bores me to death – not to mention that I was correcting the so it was taking me forever to do. That means no new posts. I’ve had this design up for nearly three weeks, and haven’t made any new progress.

This—hopefully—is the end of that nonsense.

Now, what ever to write? Oh yes – this website will be changing its name soon. I’m leaning mostly toward irowboat.com, but I also have robophobe.com registered. Basically, I decided to choose something that I could use as a greatly shortened email address. The smallest email address I could currently use (consisting of a single character, and @ symbol and the domain name) is nineteen characters. That’s too fucking long. So, along with the email address changes that are inevitable, comes a domain name change. The changeover is already underway, but will take ages to complete, I’m sure. In other words, don’t go emailing me at irowboat yet.

In other nerd-related gadgetry news: I bought myself a 12″ Apple PowerBook, and simply put – it’s exactly what I was looking for when I bought my 15″ PowerBook a year-and-a-half ago. That 15″ served me well, and has been sold to a coworker – I hope he takes good care of it. I will say that having a smaller screen feels more cramped, but the ultra-compact nature of the 12″ PB is fantastic. It’s smaller and lighter than most textbooks. Also: I bought a Bluetooth 6×8 Wacom Graphire tablet, and it, too, rocks. I really like ther fact that I can put it in the same bag with my laptop – it’s only one inch deeper, but thinner. It’s cordless, too, so I can work with full freedom pretty much anywhere. This means I am no longer burdened with my 9×12 Intuous 2, which is also up for grabs.

I’ll let you know when the bulk of the switch to irowboat is done. Until then, just keep mailing me where you’ve usually done. Oh, and I’ve noticed that a bunch of people are still viewing my knots and tutorials. Fair warning, those are going to be taken offline until I can get everything but back together. I’m making an effort to make sure that I can upgrade/redesign this site on a whim, and not have to rewrite all the code. I’m having a hard enough time putting up all the old content (nearly 300 pages), imagine how much of a pain it is to update. This site was originally called deadguydesign (as of this writing, it still is), how can I toy with design if it takes a century to change?
