One step at a time
(Thursday, November 17th, 2005 – 3:27 am)
I’ve been participating in NaNoWriMo, in which the goal is to write a novel 50,000 words (roughly 175 pages) between November 1st and November 30th. With school, work and laziness all competing for my time, I haven’t done much, but what I have done is charming, if I do say so myself. Sure, that sounds cocky, but hey, I’m not a shabby writer nowadays. I won’t–obviously–reach the goal with only two weeks left and only about eight hundred words, but some people will. It’s really an excercise in letting go, writing whatever comes out — not everyone will produce the Next Great American Novel, but it’s sure as hell fun to do.
